Double standard: Microsoft courting Yahoo...
bijan: I just read Henry Blodget’s post about Microsoft going after Yahoo employees. There is nothing wrong with that especially since Yahoo is having a tough time to say the least. And despite all of the challenges in front of Yahoo there are some fantastic people at that company. Presumably Microsoft is going after great technical folks but they also need some new DNA at Microsoft...

Tumblr's Awesome Support
I’m in the process of setting up a new page design using the Tumblr platform and I wanted to install Google analytics before this. I haven’t played with any of the tumblr  features beyond looking at the API so I wasn’t sure where to place the tracking code or if I even could.  The support turned out to be more than helpful and very quick!   Thanks guys! “Such services...

Tumblr's Future
From: [redacted] Date: Wed, 23 Jan 2008 To: Julia Allison Subject: new domain name idea I’d suggest thinking about ditching the Tumblr altogether (altogethr?) [ha!] I just have an ordinary blog, so for all I know Tumblr is the most amazing user experience ever. From the reader’s perspective, it’s like any other blog, but with less usable navigation. And it’s associated,...

— peterberkman I would say no, but only if it is realistic to stop paying thousands and thousands of dollars to learn how to manipulate people. — ericlodwick I would agree as well.  Too many people get wrapped up in the “I need to learn how to do this before I do it” stage.  Fact of the matter is that many people end up not using what they know or just being under-untilized all...

Really truly sorry. « Davidville →
I have no idea what is going on at Rackspace but they seem to have dropped the ball.  Between Tumblr and and 37signals being down the other day I would assume they are going to loose some large clients and that any new ones are going to think twice. I didn’t have a problem with the downtime on either sites.  If you read the Tumblr comments most people seem to feel the same way.  Tumblr is a...

“If Queen had been an underground rock band from New York, it might have sounded something like Apes & Androids, whose style is as entertainingly bombastic — slick harmonies, horn sections — as it is simple and visceral. The band plays the Mercury Lounge in celebration of its new album, Blood Moon.” — jakoblodwick My top three bands of the moment are Apes & Androids, MGMT, and...

Apes & Androids' Blood Moon is now for sale →
It’s excellent. The shopping cart itself is excellent, too (fine work by Patrick Moberg and ZK). If every band had this simple and beautiful an experience to sell their music online I’d be spending way more money on MP3s. Bonus points for encoding with LAME. Doomchoppers! — jstn Its an awesome album.  I think that if you like them you would also like the new album by MGMT.

Juno: I think I'm in love with you.
Paulie Bleeker: You mean as friends?
Juno: No, I mean, for real. 'Cause you're, like, the coolest person I've ever met, and you don't even have to try, you know...
Paulie Bleeker: I try really hard, actually.
- I saw this maybe a week ago. The above line is by far my favorite from the whole movie.

Ok, these are good.  The wit is on a much more real life level as compared with something like Juno.  My one problem is that videos (webisodes) like these need a better means of distribution.  I can send all of my friends to the site but it would be much more effective if I could download these and share them that way.  Hell throw an ad in.  I’m sure the return on an in-video ad would be...
